State Session 2023 | 8 September – 10 September
The 152nd Annual Session of the Illinois State Grange will be held at the Northfield Inn, 3280 Northfield Dr, Springfield, IL 62702. The meeting will start 1:00 PM on Friday September 8, 2023, and end on Sunday, September 10. Worthy National Grange Flora and Oklahoma State Grange First Lady and President of OK State Grange Lena and Billy Schufeldt will be our guests. This is an election year for most of the officers. Officers are to be ready for practice at 10:00 am on Friday. As an officer if you are not going to be attending, please let Lynette know as soon as possible. The Executive Committee, Lecturer and Committees (Ag, FAC), and Junior Director, are authorized for three nights, the rest are authorized for two. If you need or want more room nights, please let Lynette know as soon as possible and before May 25th 9:00 PM.

Room reservations will be made for you. Please check to see that the number of nights that are listed for you are correct on the rooms file that was emailed earlier. Please respond on or before May 25th. You will pay the bill and ISG will reimburse you for the number of nights you are qualified. If you will be needing a different number of nights, or if you will not be staying in the hotel at all, please let us know as soon as possible.
Please be on site in time to start your responsibilities. We may not be able to get into the display on Thursday evening; a draft schedule is posted here.
If you would like a delegate booklet please let Robin know ASAP. All the delegates are required to have a booklet. There is a fee of $5.00 per booklet which covers the printing costs.
Dress Code
- Friday afternoon and dinner, Open Session – dress business casual
- Saturday night dinner – your choice; Grange T-shirts/polos acceptable
- Please no jeans at any time during the session; look professional
- IL State Flora, Marilyn Hoffmann, would like the officers to wear white dresses-outfit for women, white shirts- tie for men know about the clothing for 6th degree
Contests
Check the rules in the ILLINOIS GRANGER for the various contests and bring your contest entries to the Session prior to the start of the meeting on Friday.
Reports/Meals/Elections
Please have the following to Robin by date she requested: Officers – Please have reports of your Grange activities. Deputies – Reports of Activities of your Granges. Directors – reports of your program and your Grange activities.
Send a check for all meal reservations before date Robin mentioned. The tickets will be put into an envelope.
Just as a reminder to most of the committee chairs, if any of you do not wish to continue serving as chair please let me know, if I am reelected.
